This website shares information about Newbury Chess Club. It has no visitor accounts, contact forms, advertising or analytics scripts.

Using this website

The website does not set its own cookies or store information in your browser. Our hosting provider processes technical information needed to deliver pages. Club photographs uploaded by our editors may be delivered by Sanity’s image service.

WhatsApp and email

Following a WhatsApp invitation takes you to an external service. Joining the group shares information with WhatsApp and other group members according to your settings and WhatsApp’s policies. If you email the club, we receive the information you choose to send.

Membership payments

If you buy a membership, Stripe securely processes the payment and collects your name, email address and phone number for Newbury Chess Club. The club uses those details to administer your membership and may use your phone number to match you with an existing member of the club’s WhatsApp group. Paying for membership does not automatically add you to WhatsApp.

The club can see payment and membership records in Stripe, but does not receive your full card details. Stripe processes your information under its own privacy policy. Membership records may be retained where needed for club administration, accounting and legal obligations.

Contact the club with questions about information you share with us.
